Coursework: Film trailer pre-production

Coursework: Film trailer pre-production The Ignite presentations have been both entertaining and inspiring - now it's time to take the next steps in our planning. Pitching a film to a group is a daunting prospect and from our presentation and feedback we should now have a good idea of what will work and what needs re-drafting. You should already have the following posted to your Media 2 coursework blog: 1) Summer project research: six film trailers each with a specific media language focus 2) Film pitch for your film idea 3) Statement of Intent 4) Ignite presentation,  feedback and learner response Statement of Intent: tutorial Over the next week of lessons, you will have an in-depth tutorial with your coursework teacher on your  Statement of Intent . This is worth 10 marks but more importantly  MUST  set out a detailed plan for your actual coursework (including specific references to aspects of film language such as shots, edit points and use of sound...

New statement of intent

My production will be a coming of age drama, and will feature a main protagonist who has worked hard for what he has and is faced with a last chance to give all up or lose his life what we he do? With my production I intend to use over three locations when filming my first will be in the local area around where I live (Northolt), my second will be an estate and my last being Northolt hills with many more locations that could feature in between the reason I have chosen Northolt hills as my final location is because as the sun is setting and it begins to get dark the hills become a playground for ideas and I will get to mess around with my scenes and get the final ending I want. These locations will be relevant to my production and the audience should be able to identify as most of my viewers will be from the background of C2DE which will allow them to have a gain a sense of personal identity (Blumler & Katz) from my production if not then they will be able to get a sense of su...

Coursework: Film poster research and pre-production With our film trailers in production, we need to turn our attention in class to the second half of the brief - print. The three film posters are as important as the trailer in terms of marks so it's vital we properly research and plan our print production work. What do you need to produce? You should create three posters to help promote the same feature film. You should identify the typical placement locations for each poster. Each poster should be different and target a specific segment of the target audience. Specifically: ·          Fans of the genre ·          Females ·          Males The posters will be used to promote screenings of the film at a local film festival and the layout and design of each poster should be appropriate for its intended location. Each poster ...

Coursework: Pre-production - Mise-en-scene Create a Mise-en-scene blogpost planning everything that will appear in front of the camera in your two-minute film trailer.  Remember  CLAMPS : Costume, Lighting, Actors (cast, placement and movement), Make-up, Props, Setting. Costume my characters will mainly be wearing tracksuits and hoodies with the main character wearing expensive  clothes this will help the audience identify the difference in lifestyle of the characters and may help them gain an understanding of the background these characters come from. this again will help link my production to the representations i have spoken about in my statement of intent. Lighting to light my trailer i will be filming in both daylight and night time but not pitch black darkness and if its too dark the use of artificial light such as a flash light from a phone to light the area needed. when filming outside if its dark and i have a scene where street...
