Coursework: Pre-production - Mise-en-scene

Coursework: Pre-production - Mise-en-scene

Create a Mise-en-scene blogpost planning everything that will appear in front of the camera in your two-minute film trailer.

Remember CLAMPS: Costume, Lighting, Actors (cast, placement and movement), Make-up, Props, Setting.

Costume
my characters will mainly be wearing tracksuits and hoodies with the main character wearing expensive  clothes this will help the audience identify the difference in lifestyle of the characters and may help them gain an understanding of the background these characters come from. this again will help link my production to the representations i have spoken about in my statement of intent.

Lighting
to light my trailer i will be filming in both daylight and night time but not pitch black darkness and if its too dark the use of artificial light such as a flash light from a phone to light the area needed. when filming outside if its dark and i have a scene where streetlights can be used to help light up the area then i will make the most out of it. when inside will use windows to allow natural light in if it fits the scene.

Actors
i will be using family and friends in my production who will play the "friends" of the protagonist along with one person playing his closest friend i will use angles and camera shots to further express the feelings of the characters, such as using a wide or crane shot to show that the character is all alone.

Make-up
Plan any make-up you require - this could be particularly important for horror trailers.

Props
i will use props such as weapons inside in a non public and when outside i will use hints to make it seem like the characters have weapons without actually having or showing them. other props such as clothing phones and other things will signal to the audience the different character types and give a clear view of who is the main protagonist.
Setting
This should already be largely planned using your script. However, now is the time to specify exact locations - if a classroom, which one? How will you arrange it with the teacher? When will you film there? For external locations, try and take pictures of settings or use Google Maps and Google Earth. Spending quality time planning your locations can make a huge difference to the professionalism of your film.

i will be using locations in northolt and south london  such as northolt hills and estates within northolt like wayfarer and islip manor i will also be using interior locations such as my house and family members houses most my filming will be done on my weekends when im in south london with some being filmed during the week
